AFTER a successful start to their 2024/25 Harvey’s Brewery Counties 3 Sussex campaign, Royals RFC host East Grinstead II tomorrow in what promises to be an exhilarating encounter.
In their season opener the Royals conquered Barns Green opposition 21-10 thanks to a strong squad-wide performance.
Having supplemented their ranks with new players and coaches, hopes are high for the season ahead.
Reflecting on his club’s history, Joao Thomas, Royals RFC captain noted: “We played East Grinstead in our first-ever league game.
“It was a really tight affair with us scoring in the last play of the game to seal the victory.”
With years of growth and development under their belts, the Royals are eager to showcase their progress.
Thomas continued, “We have an extremely competitive squad for this game and are ready to go for our first home game of the season.
“The boys have been working extremely hard in training, focusing on all the details from our first game and preparing to execute our game plan.”
Despite lacking the offensive talents of Billy Mullins, the Blues have plenty of depth on their squad and with the consistent foot of Callum Cuthbert, they have the ability to capitalise well on any mistakes made by their opposition.
Fans can expect a thrilling match as the Royals aim to build on their momentum, with hopes of “ending the game this weekend with another victory under the belt.”
Kick off is set for 1pm on pitch two at Jersey RFC.
