THE man who killed father and son Dean and Charlie Lowe in a hit-and-run collision has been sent to prison for 15 years.

Dylan Pounds (29) had been drinking heavily and was breaking the speed limit when he hit Mr Lowe (48) and his 11-year-old son Charlie on Rue de Fauvic in Grouville on the evening of 5 August last year.

Pounds was also said to have been distracted by his mobile phone at the time of the fatal collision.

Pounds (29) admitted failing to stop and report an accident and pleaded guilty to the charges of causing their deaths by careless driving.

But the jury at a trial in October found him guilty of the more serious offences of causing deaths by dangerous driving.

Pounds was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the Royal Court on Monday.
