A MAJOR incident exercise will be held at the Elizabeth Harbour terminal on Tuesday which will involve actors “who may appear to be in distress”.
Islanders have been urged not to be concerned about the multi-agency training session taking place between 9am and 2pm.
Members of the Jersey Resilience Forum – including Ports of Jersey, the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service and the emergency services – will all be involved in the exercise.
The training scenario will involve testing the organisations’ emergency response in establishing a “survivor reception centre”.
In a statement, the government said that members of the public “should be reassured that the blue-light activity in the area will be due to this training exercise” and not an incident.
“There will also be volunteer actors serving in various roles, who may appear to be in distress or in need of medical attention,” the statement added.
The terminal will close to the public at 8.30am on Tuesday, but there will not be any travel disruption as there are no shipping movements scheduled during the training exercise.
