ON a glorious day to be back among nature, the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club got back into the swing of traditional trials once again.
Top of the class in the A Route, astride the stunning GasGas machine, was Jersey’s number-one rider, Adam Le Cheminant.
The top-ranked rider accrued a mere 14 marks lost – a superbly ridden trial and a joy to watch for spectators.
On a similar machine and not too far behind was Lee Rogan on 32 marks; the aviation engineer managing his score perfectly to keep Tom Le Breton (Sherco) at bay. Too many fives for him this week cost him dearly, despite some impeccable rides.
For the nearly expert riders in the B Route, it was Tom Mollet (GasGas) who once again showed his dominance over electrical engineer Danny Lowe (Beta).
The cabling and wiring guru, while not in contention for the top spot, did an incredible job of staying ahead of Connor Carre (Beta), while Wayne Boschat, who was making his debut in this class, did a sterling job first time out finishing not too far behind.
As the remaining rounds unfold, we can expect to see a challenge from Boschat once that confidence builds.
Glen Hamel (Beta) stole the show from Montesa-mounted Steve Willis, with Ryan Gregory (GasGas) a close third.
Paul Gibaut (Vertigo) gained confidence and rode very well once again.
Making a return to trials in the C+ Route and setting out his intentions very clearly was a hard-charging Alan Bertram (Beta), who managed a simply stunning ride which really upset the Philpot and Gibaut stronghold.
Sparking up his C+ debut in style was Elliot Brown (Beta), who produced a good, strong ride.
There was also a great first ride in the C Route class from Lee Dare (GasGas), who showed potential that his confidence will no doubt grow and he will start to challenge the regular riders in this segment.
But it was Stonemason Javier Garcia Marques (Beta) who took the honours this time round. Amanda Wright (Sherco) also grabbed some championship points to add to her tally.
Mason Dare took the win in his first winter series trial in the Junior C Route, astride a little Beta 80.
A confident ride saw him drop just 41 marks and most definitely deserved bonus points for riding the boggy stream between sections.
He will now look to improve over the remaining rounds, building his confidence all the time.
In the Junior B+ Route, Archie Langlois, fresh from a day at Motox yesterday, had a pretty tough time.
The TRRS rider gave it his all, but the technical plus sections really tested him.
